Player responsibilities include reading Platinum Sports SA Tourney Rules which include COVID-19 restrictions. WARNING! Risk of injury/death from flying objects, equipment, or players incidental to the sport of volleyball may occur at this event. Attend at your own risk (includes players and spectators) as we have no liability. Please pay close attention to your surroundings and be on alert at all times, especially during active play.
These premises are not monitored to ensure the security of personal property of participants or attendees at our events. You are responsible for the security of your own belongings. The event organizers nor facility shall have no liability for any theft or damages.
When & Format:
We usually host a tourney once a month on a Saturday or Sunday, view our Tournament Dates for a listing of dates and times. Teams are placed/select divisions based on skill level (Tourney Rules). Guaranteed a minimum of 8 sets to play. Teams take turns reffing and being a draw team in case other teams are short players. Schedules are NOT usually posted ahead of time, they will be located on the score table by your team’s assigned court the day of the tourney. ALWAYS follow the instructions on the schedule for sets/matches to play in your division/court.
Cost is $80 PER TEAM for EACH tourney. Captains are responsible for paying the team fee when registering. No cost for registering as a free agent, you pay only if you are picked up by a team and pay that captain directly. Those teams NOT paying in full by the deadline as stated in League Apps when you register (usually a couple days prior to the tourney date) will be dropped.
Captains should submit a Platinum Sports SA Waiver/Roster Online Form prior to the tourney day. Captains can also print out Tourney Waiver/Roster Blank Form and turn it in by 10AM of the tourney day. Teams are allowed a maximum of TWELVE players listed on the team roster. Teams looking for players can view the Free Agent list of players looking for teams in League Apps. FREE AGENTS: If you are not picked up by the morning of our tourney, please come ready to play the morning of the tourney IN CASE a team needs a player. It is VERY LIKELY there will be teams needing players.
Location of ALL our indoor tourneys is at Mission Concepcion Sports Park (MCSP), 714 E. Theo, San Antonio, TX. We rent the courts from MCSP and they have rules we must all follow such as NO outside food/drinks/chairs. The facility also charges $5 cash per vehicle parked in their lot. There is limited free parking available across the MCSP gated entrance at the nearby community park. We will gladly refund the $5 parking fee to our wiser players aged 60 and over, simply show the pass to any of the Directors for a refund.
What do I win:
T-shirts will be awarded to the division winners of each division or if playoffs are played then to the playoff team winners in each division as long as there are at least 3 teams in the division. 2nd place prizes (smaller token prizes such as medals, lanyards, koozies, etc.) are awarded to 2nd place teams of divisions with at least 5 teams.
