TIME ALL divisions start at 10AM (finish around 4-5pm or so). 5-7 minutes warm-up for teams playing their first match. After a team’s played their 1st match, QUICK warm-ups only! If running behind on time, no warm-ups & some sets/games may be shortened (to 15 points instead of 21). Ref teams are responsible for getting the next match going!
LOCATED at Mission Concepcion Sports Complex, 714 E. Theo, San Antonio, TX 78210. This facility charges $5 cash per car. We do not charge for entry into the gym building. The gym is VERY STRICT about NO camp chairs NOR outside food/drinks (personal sports bottle OK) and will have a security officer checking ALL bags as well as a metal detector. Concession stand and bleachers are available. Parking fee covered for our senior players aged 60+ but must notify us 24 hours prior to each tourney.
TEAMS REPORT directly to your court by tourney start time. COURT NUMBERS will be posted the night before each tourney date. COURT CAPTAINS have been assigned for each court to help run the tournament smoothly. Follow their instructions and direct questions to them.
SCHEDULE TEMPLATES will be located on the table near your assigned court, schedules are NOT posted ahead of time. “Select your times of play” by writing in your team name on the paper schedule the morning of the tourney.
RATED PLAYERS Check your team's roster against our Rated Players list. It is the team’s responsibility to follow our Rated Players rules posted at our website otherwise the team may be moved to a different division and/or disqualified from winning prizes.
NOTICE RULES FOR WOMEN’S B & COED C & B & REVERSE COED B: Jump serving or playing with a middle hitter is NOT ALLOWED AT ALL. Move your team up if you're planning on doing this or refrain in C or B. It's in our PLATINUM SPORTS SA RULES
ROSTERS CAPPED at 8 PLAYERS MAXIMUM. All team players must be on your team roster. PRINT a blank TEAM ROSTER FORM and fill it out ahead of time OR we will also have blank roster forms on score tables at the tourney for each day. Turn rosters in by DEADLINE (12PM) to avoid point penalties. Draws for players WILL be allowed OR you can play with a ghost.
FREE AGENTS: CAPTAINS if you still need a player you can view the FREE AGENTS list online in league apps if there are any available. Follow the instructions at our website: FREE AGENTS. There are usually NO free agents that show up on tourney day still looking for a team so if you think you need a player it’s best to contact a free agent before tourney day. FREE AGENTS still looking for a team are encouraged to show up tourney day in case a team needs a player.
REFEREE ASSIGNMENTS: ALL teams take turns reffing and being a draw team. YOU WILL BE PENALIZED and possibly BLACKLISTED from playing in future tourneys if you do not referee all matches your team is assigned to REFEREE. Being a draw team is optional, you are not forced to play extra games for other teams, it is simply a courtesy.
PRIZES Usually t-shirts for 1st place teams in each division (with at least 3 teams in the division). Medals to 2nd place teams in each division (with at least 5 teams in the division). MEDALS may be awarded in lieu of t-shirts.
